OUR PHYSICIANS – Prevention Medicine Experts
Avram Nemetz, Medical Director
Dr. Avram Nemetz is our medical director, and he is a renowned physician and a pioneer in preventative medicines, caring for tens of thousands of patients over his heralded career. Dr. Nemetz graduated from Cornell University and earned his Medical Doctorate degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Nemetz completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center (now Jacobi Medical Center), and prior to joining Elitra Health was an emergency physician at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and highly respected among his peers here in NYC as a “Pioneer in Preventive Medicine” and has been with us since the inception of our parent company Affiliated Physicians over 30 years ago.
He is one of the preventive medicine specialists who may be spending 2+ hours with you during your stay here, performing your physical exam, and reviewing the preventive medicine reports of all the testing that you receive during your Elitra Exam. Richard Hernandez, Physician
Dr. Richard Hernandez is one of our Elitra preventive medicine physicians, and has specialized in preventative exams, cardiac health, and lifestyle medicine for over 20 years. A graduate of New York University and New Jersey Medical School where he received his Medical Doctorate degree. Prior to joining Elitra Health in 2002, Dr. Hernandez was as an emergency room physician at Lenox Hill Hospital where he was responsible for the implementation of standards-of-care protocols, held several teaching appointments, and was responsible for training medical students, multi-specialty residents and fellows in advanced preventive medicine. Richard Hernandez, MD has been an Associate Clinical Professor at New York Medical College and at New York University Medical School. He is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr Hernandez may be one of the doctors spending 2+ hours with you during your stay at our center for preventive medicine, performing your physical exam, and reviewing the results of all the testing that you receive during your Elitra Exam.
Galit Sacajiu, Physician
Dr. Sacajiu graduated from New York University’s College of Arts and Sciences, and then continued at the NYU School of Medicine. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency at NYU/Bellevue Hospital and Preventative Medicine training at the NYC Department of Health and the Columbia School of Public Health, where she also earned a Master’s in Public health. After completing her training, she worked as a preventive medicine doctor at Montefiore Medical Center (MMC) and Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM), where she served as the associate director of the Social Medicine and Primary Care Residency programs.
Dr. Sacajiu has presented at numerous national and international meetings, published multiple original articles in peer reviewed journals and has been invited as a book-reviewer by leading academic publishers. She is one of the physicians you may meet at our preventive medicine clinic.
Jas Matharu, Physician
Dr. Matharu graduated from Manchester University, England and trained in General Practice / Family Medicine working as a primary care specialist for the NHS for over 15 years. She qualified for a Membership of the Royal College of General Practice (UK) and Boarded in Family Medicine (US). In New York, Dr. Matharu was residency trained in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and General Preventive Medicine at Mount Sinai. Post-graduate qualifications include a Masters in Community Medicine, Diploma in Practical Dermatology, and A Women’s Fellowship in Women’s Health. Dr Matharu has work experience in primary care and dermatology practices. She is one of the physicians you may see for a preventive medicine exam at Elitra.
Lyne Geneste, Physician
Dr. Geneste graduated from Pennsylvania State University and earned her Medical Doctorate from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Geneste completed her residency in Family Medicine at East Liverpool City Hospital in Ohio. Dr. Geneste is an integral member of Elitra Health since 2021 and is board certified in Family Medicine. She is one of the physicians you may meet for a private health check up.
Prevention Medicine Specialists
Simon Weber, Clinical Exercise Specialist and Cardiograph Technician
Simon Weber graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington where he began his career as a personal trainer. He’s a certified strength and conditioning coach with about 9 years of hands-on experience working with executive level professionals who want to continue being top performers at work without sacrificing their fitness and health.
If you’re someone with nagging or chronic injuries, Simon can often help pinpoint what’s causing that pain, and often it’s due to muscle weaknesses and imbalances. During your Elitra Exam you’ll spend up to an hour with Simon doing your Cardiac Stress Test and completing a movement screening that he’ll use to help you map out a plan to optimize your fitness, overcome and prevent injuries, and introduce proper recovery strategies for your busy life.
Kayleen Eslinger, Registered Dietician
Kayleen Eslinger is a licensed Registered Dietitian who is passionate about educating others on the many ways that food and nutrition can enhance their lives and prevent disease. She holds her M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from Hunter College, in addition to her B.S. in Health Science Studies and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Quinnipiac University. Kayleen has accumulated several years of experience in the health and wellness field working with various populations, from those diagnosed with chronic illnesses to those seeking to optimize their overall health and wellbeing. She takes an individualized approach to nutrition counseling that is evidenced-based, practical and sustainable in order to help you feel your best and achieve your goals wherever you may be on your health journey.
Rosana Gowrie, Massage Therapist, LMT, NLMT
Rosana is a dedicated licensed massage therapist who obtained her License and Associate in Occupational Studies from New York Collage of Health Professions. Rosana specializes in multiples modalities including Sports massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Pre and Post- Surgical Massage, PNF/AIS Stretching, Lymphatic drainage, NMT-Neuromuscular Re-educations, Prenatal and Deep Tissue. Rosana’s passion for helping others achieve optimal wellness and keen understanding of the human body fuel her commitment to her profession. Rosana is committed to providing personalized care to each client tailoring each treatment to address specific concerns to best achieve balance, relieve pain and tension all of which will help keep the body active and help manage the body’s aging processes.
